Meet the Maker

Hi! 

I'm Cat, the maker and creator behind Kit & Co. I'm a little camera shy, but working on that!

I'm a wife, and mum of three amazing kids! I'm also an artist, creator, milliner, crafter.... whatever you want to call me. So long as I can create on the daily. 

My family and I are fortunate to live in the most beautiful city of Cairns, in Northern Australia... the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and rainforest.

Kit & Co. is a new venture for me in 2020. 

Before co-vid came along, I had a thriving millinery business which gave me a creative outlet, and financial independance. But as we've all discovered, 2020 had other plans.

I've taken everything I've learned from Sweetpea Finery, and poured my creative energies into learning new skills, designs and creative techniques... heaven!! 

The result has been the emerging love of jewelry design, and in particular working with polymer clay. I love every part of the creative process, from mixing colours, to assembling the finished product. Buuut... I'm not such a big fan of the marketing side.

I just love exploring mixed materials, colours, textures and geometric forms; making original, statement pieces that could be worn everyday.

The collection of earrings I create are diverse and individual. 

I want to create pieces that give you something special and unique to enjoy wearing. Something that allows you to express yourself, in a world which is becoming increasing dominated by mass production. 

It's a total cliche... but I hope you enjoy wearing these pieces, as much as I have loved making them.
